Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme  (TIES  )

Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES) was launched in 2017-2020 by the Central government to bridge infrastructure gaps, promote exports and enhance export competitiveness. Objectives of the Scheme:

Ø To enhance export competitiveness by bridging gaps in export infrastructure

Ø First mile and last mile connectivity for export-oriented projects

Ø Addressing quality and certification measures including SPS/ TBT compliance


Eligible Agencies:

  • Central Government Agencies including Export Promotion Councils, Commodities Boards, SEZ Authorities, Apex Trade Bodies recognized under the EXIM policy of Government of India

  • State Government Agencies

  • Joint Ventures of any of the above Government agencies where it has a major stakeholding and PPP projects are also eligible

Budgetary allocation & Financial Assistance:

With an annual outlay of Rs 200 Cr. per year, the total budgetary allocation for TIES is INR 600 Cr. Central Government assistance for infrastructure creation will be in the form of grant-in-aid, not more than equity being put in by the implementing agency or 50% of the total equity in the project. Grant in aid shall be subject to a ceiling of Rs 20 Cr for each infrastructure project. Cost of land shall not be included in the project cost, for the purpose of calculating the extent of contribution of the implementing agency under the Scheme. PPP projects would be encouraged in States with relatively better export infrastructure and institutional capacity so that the funds under TIES can be optimally leveraged
