Export Promotion Initiatives

  • Export Strategy for Karnataka 2020:

    The Strategy is formulated by VTPC in association with the Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO) for a period of five years, the strategy aims to facilitate exporters in the State through various measures related to Policy, Infrastructure, common facility, ease of doing business, promotion, etc. The Strategy targets to make Karnataka amongst the top three states of the country in terms of merchandise exports. Among various thrust areas, the Strategy suggests measures to boost sectoral exports across Engineering, Coffee, Agriculture & Allied, Chemical & Allied, Marine, Electrical & Electronics, Granite, Plastic, Handicraft and Apparel, Leather, besides others.

 

  • Services Export Strategy: 

    formulated by VTPC in association with Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and released in Global Exhibition of Services 2019. It provides a roadmap for the promotion and nurturing of identified Champion Service Sectors in the state.

 

  • Champion Services Sector  strategy:

    VTPC has Identified 6 sectors for promotion which includes 

    Education,

    Media & Entertainment

    Transport & Logistics

    Remittances & Emigration

    Health & Wellness and Construction

    Allied Engineering for promotion

     

  • Export Development Centers:

    VTPC along with GoI has identified and proposed five districts-Shivamogga, Hubbali-Dharwad, Bidar, Ramanagara, and Mysuru to establish Export Development Centers on a pilot basis under the leadership of JD DIC. He would be responsible for carrying out functions pertaining to awareness generation regarding e-commerce facilities for businessmen, artisans, and other groups, support manufacturers to sell their products online, set up local logistics facilities through Post Office/Courier, encourage Buyer-Seller Meets, international trade exhibitions, among others.

  • MOU is inked with Amazon Global Selling to position the Artisans and other MSMEs products in the global market. First & Last mile connectivity in the State is being undertaken by India Post. Various meetings are being conducted with the artisans and other MSMEs for onboarding of their products on Amazon and Foreign Post Offices.

 

  • Developing Districts as Export Hubs:

    An initiative led by DGFT, Ministry of Commerce, GoI under the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to transform each district as an export hub from the ramparts of Red Fort in his Independence Day Speech in 2019. These initiatives under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Vision would provide a fillip to exports.

    District Level Export Promotion Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of the District Commissioners and has conducted various meetings. Export Potential Products have been identified in each of the districts. District Action Plans are being prepared by ADGFT in coordination with VTPC and other Stakeholders.
