Initiatives to promote Logistics Sector

  • The New Industrial Policy 2020-25 of the State has identified logistics as a key focus sector (important champion service sector). Various Incentives and Concessions have been offered to the logistics sector in the New Industrial Policy.

  • Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Commerce & Industries Department has been nominated as the Nodal Officer from the State and the State Logistics Coordination Committee has been set up under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to Government. 1st SLCC meeting was conducted on 19th July’2021 through a virtual platform.

  • Various Stakeholder Consultations were held to elicit the views and to identify the interventions necessary in the Logistic sector for aligning the State with the GoI initiatives relating to smart enforcement, warehousing, city logistics, freight smart cities, driver empowerment to mention a few.

  • To ensure an integrated development of the logistics sector, VTPC is working towards the development of an exclusive State Integrated Logistics Action Plan/ Policy.
